Just read this article on Scroll on how Congress has yet again considered family connection being taken into the team. Quickly I searched on Google and I found similar article tainting another National Party, BJP’s list of dynasty politicians is not far from Congress’ list. If we start digging into the history, it will flood with examples how politics have flown in family!
and I wonder, what is wrong if it is in the family. If the people of constituency recognize a family and emotionally connect with the leaders and if the leaders work hard for their people, is it not frivolous or rather vicious to taint it with bias? Are doctor's kids not doctors, are lawyers kids. not lawyers?
I strongly disagree with media reporting so recklessly. Once you make a generalized statement, you create an impression that all such leader's with family history are undeserving or their selection is based purely on bias and not on merit!
2 of my favorite journalists in India are kids of veteran journalists and they got the benefit of their parents leaving them that "goodwill". Good will is like a legacy that you create by being good to others.
Kennedy once said'" In a time of domestic crisis, men of goodwill and generosity should be able to unite regardless of party or politics."
In the end what matters is whether good men come to work and whether they do good work!
